Learn To Draw People Through Technique And Exercise

Learning how to draw people requires you to begin with the fundamentals and then exercise your skills as you gradually progress. Learning a few handy techniques of drawing and practicing them regularly can put you on the road to become an artist.

If you come across a good sketch of a person, the first thing that comes to your mind is if you could also be blessed with the way how to draw people. But the fact is that you need not be born with the skill to draw people. Similar to other types of communication, you can also learn to draw, and more notably learn to draw other people. With practice and watching certain points you may definitely learn to draw people.

Many tools can be used in order to start learning how to draw people. This includes a lead pencil, color pencils, pen, wax crayons , charcoal and ink. When you watch your surroundings you'd realize that all that you want to draw can be depicted in simple shapes like squares, rectangles, ellipses and cones. And, with 3D drawing techniques, these shapes can be created in such a way that they seem to come out of the page.

Along with frequent practice the following techniques when used repeatedly, will help you to learn how to draw people and gradually get close to becoming an artist.

The first and foremost techniques necessary to learn how draw people is observation. Without learning the way to see things around you, it wouldn’t be possible for you to draw people effectively. The basic way of representing any tone, form, texture or color begins with one’s eyes. And, it is only when you are able to observe and identify these different factors will you be able to copy them by using a pencil.

The next strategy to learn while learning how to draw people is to learn the lines. When you have learnt to watch objects in various basic shapes, the next step to learn how to draw portraits is to learn drawing lines. Generally, there are three types of lines used for rendering an object - straight angled and curved line. First you have to practice by drawing these lines separately, and then move towards drawing simple objects.

The next thing you need to focus upon to learn how to draw people is to get the right perspective. This involves learning the rules of geometry and using them to illustrate things on paper. Using this technique, you'll be able to draw more visually correct and with more realism. It's vital that you learn all these techniques and exercise regularly before you are able to master the skill sets for how to draw people.
