Choosing a repair centre for your iPhone- How do you find the best?

And with thousands of companies out there carrying out repairs and with the internet growing daily, how do you make the best choice when sending your iPhone away to a repair centre?

You’ve smashed the screen on your iPhone or the microphone has packed up, or you have just dropped it in the dog bowl. Oh no! You need your iPhone fixed quickly and reliably….  And with thousands of companies out there carrying out repairs and with the internet growing daily, how do you make the best choice when sending your iPhone away to a repair centre?

There are many companies offering repairs for iPhones so it can feel like a maze when finding the right one- here are some top tips for helping you to choose the best service:

• Check out review sites, these are guaranteed to provide genuine feedback from customers who have used the company; Google, Dooyoo and Scoot are good places to find a wealth of company reviews.
• Call the company- even if they are web-based you will gain peace of mind by knowing you can actually speak to a person- a lot of repair companies do not offer this option.
• See how long a company has been running- it makes sense that the better companies would have remained in business the longest. You can search this on Companies house or even just by asking the company themselves.
• Check out prices- you know what a reasonable price is to pay, screen repairs for a 3G for example should be around £40- £50 if the job is being done properly- be hesitant of companies offering very cheap prices- it often shows in the quality of the repair.
• Does the company offer an on-site service? Any good company would have the ability to let you come in and wait-Let’s face it; you don’t want your personal data or possessions being repaired by a teen in their parent’s spare bedroom.
• Ask a reputable high street store, anywhere that sells the products should be able to lead you in the right direction. If they recommend a repair centre they have used or heard of then that’s a great start.

When you have done your research and found the best place to send it, check out the postage details, is it included in the price quoted and how is that sent? You don’t want your £500 iPhone being posted back to you first class.

In this day and age, iPhone repairs are common and if the company is good, it will have the repaired unit back to you within 24-48 hours using insured postage.

Think about reading through the terms and conditions and checking that your repaired unit will be back with you safely.

Make sure you don’t get confused between companies, there are many, many out there with very similar names, clicking on the link to the website where you read the review is a good way to avoid Internet errors such as this.

Great companies are happy to talk to you, email you and answer questions so don’t be afraid to ask. One final thing….don’t be tempted to repair it yourself!!
