Everybody has a Dream, a Promise for a blessed life, holding onto it for a while, enjoying the enlightenment as you think of a better tomorrow. 

Being inspired to go for it is not too far in the distant past. 
 
The harshness of life appears and you give in to it, letting it take over, even control the faith and trust once held.
 
Did your blessings wear out?  Are they gone?  Where did they go?
 
Losing perspective of life is the death of your Dream. Immediately heal the old wounds, cut out the negative ways (programming).
 
Taking your blessings for granted, forgetting that original Promise for a better tomorrow is when it is time to stop in your tracks ... now set back on course in that old inspired direction.
 
For most, it takes life's' setbacks to come to the point where you are willing to lose sight of what you now have, give it up!, completely, push off from the beach in that tiny row boat with the commitment to find that lost Dream or Promise from back a ways.  Go fishing for Moby Dick with the tartar sauce in hand expecting that great catch, and soon!
 
Is the foundation of your faith and trust built on bedrock?  Do you absolutely KNOW you will not fail this time?  What is different now?
 
Your heart and attitude changes over the years, but, the Dream, Life's Promise doesn't move.  It calls you while you sleep saying "Come Ahnnnn!, You Can Do It Like The Rest Of The Dreamers."  You question if the "other" Dreamers prepared more, put in the time and effort to get the job done when Life's circumstance wasn't perfect.  Paid their dues.  Did YOU?  Did you think it is necessary to pay your dues?  What is cause and effect really all about anyway?
 
When your baby was small, he or she was adorable, charming, just like when your new Dream takes on it's initial shape or form.  As the baby grows, to adult age ... 30, 40 +, that baby isn't always lovable, with all the hard-earned lessons to reflect upon.  Similarly, your Dream, the Promise, it gets jaded too, as the trial and error of the ambitious beats down the confidence that, "Maybe I can't do it!, I don't have it in me anymore.  I used too ... "
 
Remind yourself of Life's Promise.  Go back and find where you wrote it down and read it like the Life-saving hope it is to re-capture your vitality and vigor that burns at the least opportune times.  Keep reminding until you've done it enough to become the Promise.  Spruce it up for the new year.  Shake off the dust of that old Life Plan and add some color, some detail and take the necessary action to define and enjoy what Life's Promise really is to you and your family.
