What if I told you there is a way to make money that does not require any of the following:

> Selling anything

> A lot of work

> A web site

> A whole lot of time to implement

> Money, or

> An established business

In fact, here is what's so great about this money maker:

> You give it away free

> It doesn't take a long time to create

> It builds credibility to your name

> You can get it started for nothing, and

> It will make you money for months or years to come

What is this incredible little cash producing gem that I'm talking about? A free eBook or free report of course.

Everyone has some knowledge stored in their brain. Someone else is out there searching for that very knowledge. You can take advantage of this ever present opportunity by creating a small eBook or report to give away for free.

But isn't it hard to create an eBook or free report?

No, not at all. In fact there's a few simple steps you can take that will make creating your freebie a breeze. The best part is you can get started on it today and be handing it out tomorrow.

Here's what you can do right now:

1. Think of a general topic that you know about.

It may be basket weaving, computer programming, cooking, sewing, direct marketing, or nutrition. It doesn't matter what it is, just go with something you know.

2. Pick a more specific topic that people in your market will benefit from. Any insider tips usually work great.

Making money with basket weaving, advanced programming tricks, home cooking in the new millenium, sewing for profit, how to get a 4% conversion rate on your next direct mail piece, or a cancer free diet. These would all be helpful topics that someone is interested in.

3. Brainstorm as many subtopics as possible.

Let's try basket weaving as an example. Basket weaving for today's consumer, how to give your baskets the perfect image for maximum profits, selling your baskets on eBay, how to cut your basket production time in half, giving your baskets that antique look, and dirt cheap sources for extremely rare basket weaving materials.

See how this works? Make it appealing and people will want it. What you're basically doing here is making an outline of what topics and subtopics to cover when it comes time to create your freebie.

4. Rack your brain and get started.

Run down your list and write as much as you can on each subtopic. Share your personal experiences and give lots of examples so the reader fully understands the main points you're getting across.

As you're writing, ask yourself questions to get as much info out of your brain as possible. Here's a start:

What are the basics? What's the basic idea?
What are some more advanced tricks?
What works? What doesn't work?
Is there good news? Bad news?
What would the reader need? What don't they need?
Can I give an example here? Or share some advice?
Why is that a particularly good example?
What should the reader keep in mind or remember?
What are some great strategies? Great resources?
Are there any other points I can mention? Any more tips?

Asking yourself these questions as you write will turn your brain into nuclear explosion of  great information that your readers will just love.

Also, always remember that any resource you can give a reader is perfect for your free eBook or report. (e.g. where I go to get domain names for only $12.99/year or the only company I found offering quality web hosting for under $10/month)

So how do I make money if this thing is given away for free?

You sign up for an affiliate program and sprinkle the eBook or report with your affiliate link. If your freebie is business related, go to associateprograms.com and pick one that pays out at least 40% on each sale. For basket weaving or other markets, you can track one down by doing a search in a major search engine.

Example: "affiliate program" "basket weaving"

The best place to incorporate your affiliate links is in your recommendations and resources. For instance, in the example above that said "the only company I found offering quality web hosting for under $10/month", by all means make that text a hyperlink with your reseller ID in it.

The basic idea is to (a) gain readers' trust by giving them quality information for free, then (b) refer them to the best places to find Alaskan widgets or Bohemian baskets. Just make sure you get a cut of each Bohemian basket sold.

How do I deliver the eBook?

You can set up a free web site, put it on your existing web site, or send it by e-mail attachment. You could even find a place that offers free storage space and give the freebie seekers your password with the url to go and download it.

Let people know about your freebie in forum postings, on your web site, or in the resource box of any articles you write. Let them know in the signature file with any e-mail you send out. Try posting to the newsgroups.

Get started on your free eBook or free report today. Put forth that consistent daily effort, don't give up and I'm confident that it will pay you back for many moons to come.

After all, how hard could it be to *give* something away?
