How Does a Pure Sine Wave Inverter Work?

A pure sine wave inverter is used to convert direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). This is prudent as it protects electrical appliances from power surges and spikes.

A pure sine wave inverter is used to convert direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). This is prudent as it protects electrical appliances from power surges and spikes. As a result, this device is mostly used when highly sensitive electrical appliances that require very high quality waveform with minimal harmonic distortion are in operation. This is because such electrical devices have an extremely high surge capacity, which if caution is not exercised will easily exceed the rated wattage.

Therefore, the electrical devices such as power motors can easily start without drawing up excessive power. This is because power motors have the capability of drawing up to seven times its required wattage rate during startup. In fact, any electrical appliance including a microwave effectively operates when connected to an automatic voltage regulator designed as a pure sine wave inverter without fear of its damage.

DC is a current that flows from the positive electrical pole to the negative electrical pole in a continuous manner while AC flows back and forth between the positive and negative pole. DC is natural and is mostly found in batteries while AC is manmade. Therefore, DC is an incompatible current in regards to the public utility grid, which holds infrastructure and the industrial sector.

A power AC inverter is thus used to change the DC battery power to a convectional AC power, which can be used to run a host of electrical appliances. For instance, when on a long road trip such a setup can be used to power TVs, computers, radios and power tools. Also, the off grid inverter (a type of a pure sine inverter), solar voltage stabilizer and AC voltage stabilizer can be used to connect a solar PV system to an AC load such as a laptop charger.

With this in mind, then how does a pure sine wave inverter work? According to scientific research, there are two factors that determine the efficacy of an automatic voltage regulator. They include its wave and wattage output. The wave outage is used to presume the physical appearance of the electrical signals, which appear as visible waves on a screen. The output waveform may be produced as a pulsed sine wave, square wave or sine wave. The produced waveform depends on the circuit design used. The wattage output involves two steps, which include the conversion of low voltage DC to high voltage DC and converting the high voltage DC to an AC waveform. Alternatively, the low voltage DC can be directly converted to an AC waveform, which is then boosted to a higher voltage using an inbuilt transformer.

However, for effective, reliable, stable and improved performance, as well as reduction of overall operating cost it is advisable to get an automatic voltage regulator that has a high surge capacity, high efficiency, low harmonic distortion and low standby losses. Moreover, with such an appliance one will be able to maximize energy output thus incase of factories they will increase production resulting to increased profit margins and continuous growth of the company.
