Do you honestly believe you can improve your soccer team's performance without even kicking a ball? Well I've got news for you, you can!

Have you ever noticed what all the successful teams have in common? They all have great team morale and the team dynamics are stable and secure. At the end of the day, a successful team is a stable team.

So how do you create this kind of morale for your players? How do you create a stable team that will inevitably guarantee you a great season?

Know your players - Take the time to get to know every single player. Work out their personalities and coach accordingly. Some players need a kick up the back side to get going, while other players require the softer touch and require encouragement. Before you start to coach, make sure you can distinguish and separate your players based on their personalities.

Encourage and Appreciate - Encourage all your players and appreciate their efforts. All soccer players are humans and mistakes will be inevitable. It's how your players react and bounce back from these mistakes that matters. Let your players train freely without the fear of making mistakes. Give them the opportunity to learn from their own mistakes. Only through their own mistakes can they grow and develop as a soccer player, but also as a human being.

Create a safe and friendly environment - Never use intimidation to coach young players. Make training sessions fun, enjoyable and master the art of appreciation. Make your players smile and laugh while teaching them the basics of the game.

Appreciation builds confidence - Give your players feedback, let them know you're proud of them and their efforts. Always praise and encourage your players to allow them to build good self esteem. With good self esteem, your players will become confident and highly motivated ensuring you have a team to coach week in, week out.

A coach should be more worried about his players not attending training because they dislike him or his training methods than his win-loss ratio. There's something to think about next time you're coaching kids Soccer.
