According to the latest user feedback, a lot of Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 users failed to install Macgo Mac Blu-ray Player V2.10.6. After the upgrade process is over, users will be prompted for “The data might be damaged. You should remove it“.

To understand what is going on with this problem, it is very necessary to explain Gatekeeper options on Apple Mac. Gatekeeper is a new feature in Mountain Lion and OS X Lion v10.7.5 that builds on OS X’s existing malware checks. There are all together three options as follows:

Mac App Store – Only allow apps that came from the Mac App Store can open.

Mac App Store and identified developers – Only allow apps that came from the Mac App Store and developers using Gatekeeper can open.

Anywhere – Allow any apps to open regardless of their sources.

The problem that Mac OS X users faced here results from that Apple changed the ways of authentication regarding to “identified developers” in the second option on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10, so Macgo needs to find a way to verify its identification on the newest Mac system. Given that Mac OS X 10.10 is still in beta, there are a lot of bugs in need of repair. However, Macgo has already fixed the problem of identity authentication on Mac OS X 10.9.5.

Mac OS X 10.10 users who failed to install Mac Blu-ray Player V 2.10.6 can go back to V2.10.5, which is the same as V2.10.6 except for the identity authentication issue.
